Julie Ann Segal

Julie Ann Segal is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BFA specializing in Interior Design. She has been working as a professional designer since 1987 and started Metropolitan Interiors in 1992. In 2003 she became a certified Feng Shui Practitioner upon completion of Carole Hyder’s state-sanctioned Feng Shui Program.

Julie Ann’s work has been featured in many different articles. In September of 2006, she was featured in the business section of the Star Tribune in a piece about having moved her design studio and offices into a Victorian Home across from Loring Park. She was also recognized on the Small Business Administration’s web site as a business on the rise.

Julie Ann has also been highlighted nationally. She was a speaker for Best Buy and KitchenAid in 2006 for the grand opening of their new kitchen appliance display in the Richfield store location. She also displayed her work on HGTV’s show “Room for Change”

Julie Ann currently teaches combining the art of feng shui and interior design through workshops and classes and specializes in working with individuals and businesses, designing interiors for residential homes, apartment and condo common areas and offices. Julie Ann is also the mother of four children.

Julie Karels

Julie Karels joined Metropolitan Interiors as Julie Ann Segal’s assistant. She is an interior designer and a certified Feng Shui consultant in the Black Sect tradition. Julie holds a B.S. degree in interior design from the University of Minnesota. She is also a graduate of the Wind and Water School of Feng Shui, taught by Carole J. Hyder.

Julie is an active member of Feng Shui Institute of the Midwest (FSM). With over a decade of experience in the interior design field, along with a balance of her western beliefs and her Asian heritage, she has developed a common sense approach to the art of Feng Shui and its principles. Julie is married and the mother of two children.
